FRIENDS OF HPL PRESENT THE ART OF THE SONG SERIES WITH HOST HARRY REMER AND SPECIAL GUEST CHRISTA JOY

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 21ST AT 7PM

The Art of the Song series at the Hadley Library will offer audiences special insight into the complex and storied craft of songwriting. Shows will begin and end with host Harry Remer and an accomplished local singer-songwriter performing original songs. In between, they will discuss the making of one of the guest’s songs—covering inspiration, process and discipline, overcoming doubt, and more—all in a spacious and attractive literary setting.

November's guest is Christa Joy, an Americana songwriter with a classic country flair who has appeared at fabled venues like Club Passim and the Iron Horse. In recent years, her band Christa Joy and the Honeybees has sold out multiple performances at Northampton’s Parlor Room. She has opened for Lucy Wainwright Roche, The Sweetback Sisters, and Loudon Wainwright III.

Host Harry Remer has been playing clubs, cafes, and music festivals all over Southern New England since the 1990s. He has been featured on WRSI/The River, Valley Free Radio, and NBC television in his native Western Massachusetts.

The Art of the Song is a FREE event made possible with the generous support of Friends of Hadley Public Library
